Dry Embossing

Good Morning!

This is Jen over at 3Cats and a Bug!  I've been looking through older blog posts over at Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine and found an interesting dry embossing technique here.  I've used my embossing folders on a lot of cards over the past few years, however I never thought to do this!

I started out using my spellbinders butterfly die.  I ran it through my big kick and then used a white gel pen to do the stenciling.

Using my xyron, I attached 3 butterflies to another piece of patterned paper.
I ran that through my big kick to emboss it.

I used my liquid pearls to embellish the butterfly bodies.  I used my MS punch around the page on another piece of paper.  (Ignore the few mistakes, I just couldn't force myself to make Trouble get off my lap!)

I also tried using another embossing folder, although I didn't care for this card as much as the first one.

Fabulous cards - love this effect. I think the first one worked better because of the floral/swirly embossing folder. They are both wonderful. TFS
