So Berry Yummy So Relax and Enjoy!

Hi everyone! This is Elizabeth form 217 Creations.  I am your Guest Designer today. I love chilled Strawberries on a hot summer day! AND I am sucker for House Mouse Stamps! They are all so adorable and since I am working on shading and coloring, I thought I would make a card with this image called Sleeping with Strawberries. I am also sharing this project with my friend Pam's blog The Bug Bytes.
I started by embossing some red cardstock with a folder from Perserves Cuttlebug Cricut Companion Folder.. I flipped the mebossing over to make it look debossed. I mounted my colored image on top and then mounted to green cardstock.  I used the Sew Easy Stitch Piercer tool to make the template for stitching.  I hand stitched the border and added lace trim.
I do not own Copics (just another addiction I am avoiding). So I use PrismaColor Premier Color Pencils and then either Mineral Spirits or Goo Gone with a Blending Stump to mix and fill.  I have been using this technique for over a year- some call it Magic Pencil Technique or Gamsol Method.  I really enjoy it but I find that I need to perfect my shading and lighting. One nice feature on House Mouse Stamps is there are extra dots in the image for shading.  It is making it so much easier.
My final step was to stamp the Relax and Enjoy from Pink By Design Tags and Treats on to an A2 card base and then mount my matting on top.
Thank you Pam for having me over to play today! And thank you to all of your readers fro leaving comments! Have a great day!
