Let's Shake It!

Hi everyone! This is Elizabeth from 217 Creations. I am your Guest Designer today at Tuesday Treats.  Our featured cartridge this month is Life is a Beach.  I love this cartridge for the fabulous images, but the card features are the best. So today, Let's Shake it and have some fun with this cartridge!
All of these images were sized on my Gypsy.  This file will cut all the pieces necessary to assemble this card. The first step is to cut Page 1.  This is the "Frame".  I cut the frame from a DCWV paper pad called Butterflies and Blossoms. It is sized at   Inches (as are all the pieces for the card itself).  Then I cut Page 2 which is the acetate layer.  I just overhead transparency from the office supply store. Next re-cut Page 2 for the "backing" to the shaker card.  I used a glittered paper from Hobby Lobby.  Finally cut Page 3 for the card base.
Then I took the frame and applied Terrifically Tacky Tape all around the border on the backside.
Next I applied the acetate transparency on top of the adhesive. Then I took Sticky Strips Pop Foam and and applied a solid border all the around the frame.
This process will create the pop up effect and the frame that will hold the glitter and confetti inside.  So be sure that there are not gaps in the foam border.
Then I took the "confetti" cuts from page 4 of my gypsy file.  All the confetti pieces are sized at 1 inch. I also sprinkled some glitter into the pocket.
I then took the backing of the shaker and placed it over the pocket and pressed firmly to create a tight seal.

I then applied my shaker piece to body of the card using dry adhesive.
Then I removed the spiky piece sticking out of the flower so I don't have to worry about lining op my flower layer.
Then I cut my leaves and flowers for the font of the card on page 5 of the Gypsy file.  This flower was sized at 2.21 inches as were the layers to the flower (real dial size off). I also welded together 2 palm leaves at 1.63 inches and cut them out of light green Gemstone paper.  I also cut 2 layered leaf pieces at 1.63 inches out of bright Bazzill cardstock. All the edges were inked with Color Box Raw Silk.
Then I cut the layers for my flower from page 5 of the Gypsy file. The flower all its layers are cut at 2.21 inches (real dial size off).
Finally I cut the inside sentiment ALHOA at 1.87 inches.  I cut this image twice once for the lettering and then for the flower. I also cut inside layers.  All of the edges were inked with Raw Silk from Color Box.
I love how this turned out and the creative feature for the card makes it super easy.  I hope you enjoyed this card.  If you would like to have a free copy of this Gypsy file, please visit my personal blog at http://www.217Creations.blogspot.com
