Carnivale!

Ok folks... my FIRST design post here at TheBugBytes!!! And how exciting was this project!?! To be quite honest, this project became a God-send since I have been at the hospital with my son for the past three days. That little Gypsy did a GREAT job keeping me distracted!!! My son is going to be fine (WHEW!) and I got some projects completed, so all is good! This project is of course a Mardi Gras mask. I created it using George and Basic shapes for the eyes, then welded different flourishes from the Storybook cartridge (my favorite cartridge of all time!!!!) and finally the "feathers" were created using more flourishes from Storybook and Accent Essentials. If you don't have Accent Essentials, this mask would look WONDERFUL with REAL feathers! The mask handle was created by coloring an orange stick that I use for my manicures... hahahahahaha! One person's "cheap" is another person's "resourceful"! LOL! The shadow for the mask was created using the "shadow feature" of each of the shapes. Everything in the cut file is welded and ready to cut. I also intend on shrinking this mask and using it to create some cards.

So, here are the extras... Stickles! Lots and lots of Stickles!!! HAHAHAHAHA! I mentioned in the post on my blog that this mask would look AMAZING with Mardi Gras beads hung to embellish it. Honestly, I was terrified to do anything more to this mask. This thing was so plastered with Stickles that the paper buckled slightly from the dampness and weight of the Stickles! I'm so serious! The Stickles colors I used are: Diamond, Purple, Eucalyptus and Black Diamond. I'm gonna need me a few more of those Black Diamond Stickles... I LOVE IT!!! Oh! One last thing! The frame that I used on this layout was a pre-designed frame on the Storybook cartridge. Did I mention that the Storybook cartridge is the greatest cartridge ever??? Cuz it is!!! :) I hope you guys have as much fun with this mask as I did making it!

Beautiful project! Glad to hear that your son will be fine! I swear DD's mission when she was younger was to have me completely gray-headed lol.

This is amazing! I too am a stickles fanatic. I put them on EVERYTHING. Just have to have my stickles.

Glad to hear that your son will be ok. So scary to have a child in the hospital.

Very nice job. Now I need to get another cartridge Accent Essentials. And I wholeheartedly agree with you that Storybook is the greatest.

My heart fluttered just hearing the word child and hospital in the same sentence. So glad he is going to be well and hopefully you are also. I love stickles or any kind of glitter. It dresses up a card so muc.
