G sync - Troubleshoot - Resetting the firmware so that the G can be reupdated after the new update

edited
Now ctrl alt del shift q  - the backdoor method to get back the reupdate option in the Gypsy sync does not work anymore . Instead go to help and choose troubleshoot and then choose option the correct option
The third option should reformat to factory settings and then you can reupdate. But remember you have to relink the cartridges again.
And before you jump up and down with joy at this :) in PC's words
"still will only be able to link carts to original Gypsy serial # "

They are very wise at PC.
To list the complete steps
Run G sync and once it says no update and refreshes data. Go to help and choose the 2nd option Gypsy Troubleshoot.

And you will come to this screen

Choose yes and answer the appropriate questions

Question 1
or Option 1
Obviously if you have some problem with the content of the cartridges

Choosing yes will take you to the troubleshooting part and choosing No will take you to option 2

If you chose yes
then you will see this in troubleshoot

And if you chose ok it will perform the action and if you press No it will g back to G sync. You can also Start Over

If you chose No to the first option

Option 2) Then you will see this screen
If some application closes without warning then choose this option like search  etc closes. Mostly it does a content check.
In Admin Darryn's words
"2 is if you are in an application and it suddenly closes, or freezes. Two only reformats parts and updates content again."

If you choose yes then you get this screen and No will take you to option 3

And if you choose No in the option 2 - you will this screen which is option 3.
Agaain in Admin Darryn's words - "3 is if an application will not open at all. (2 is if you are in an application and it suddenly closes, or freezes. ) And again 3 reformats the whole firmware chip as two only reformats parts and updates content again. "

If you select then you will see this screen and this is where you will have the G be reformatted and you have to relink all the cartridges

Again before you jump up and down with joy it will relink only to the original serial number . To reset part ha ha -  you still have to send to PC. So this option will set the G firmware to factory settings and you have to re update and relink. SO choose if your update is partially done or some error occurs.Try doing 2 before 3 and see if it corrects the problem else if you are like me and have about 70 - 80 cartridges you have to link everything
So have fun..
